On July 26th, 2023 Dr. Marcus Hartmann, Founder and CSO of Cilian, attended the Ciliate Molecular Biological Meeting 2023 in Montpellier, France, from June 26th-29th and presented the unique abilities of Tetrahymena for the industrial production of biopharmaceutical proteins. Cilian’s production platform CIBEX system (abbreviated: Ciliate based expression system, based on Tetrahymena thermophila) is ideally suited for the production of subunit vaccines against enveloped viruses, therapeutic enzymes and certain monoclonal antibodies against cancer. Dr. Hartmann also presented a poster about Ciliate based expression system (CIBEX system) at a company booth.

Ciliate Molecular Biology Meeting 2023 is an international biennial meeting for the entire research community to bring together international established developing researchers that use different ciliate biological models to approach biological questions and applications.
